How can I download ringtones onto itunes?

I have a project due and I need to take excerpts from songs so I thought that ringtones would be perfect. but I need to download them onto itunes so I can burn onto cd

Well you don’t need ringtones necessarily, just the clips. To do that in iTunes just right click the song you want & select Get Info. Go to Options where you will see start & stop time. Edit those times to whatever you want then select ok.
Right click the song again & select Convert to [whatever] or Make [whatever] Version. You will get a version that is to the length of time you set.
Remember to set the original back to its original start & stop time.
